Monolaurin
Kills Influenza (Flu) Virus
__________________________________________
Our 3-Step Answer for the Flu Actually Works!
Step 1: Ultimate Monolaurin to fight flu viruses. (Essential)
Step 2: Our Foundation for overall body function. (Optional)
Step 3: Specific Nutrients to help fight the flu. (Optional)
Step 1: Ultimate Monolaurin
Nature does have an answer! (Hundreds of clinical studies can’t be wrong.)
There is one essential step in preventing the flu: Monolaurin. It has an amazing ability to kill all pathogen (bad) bacteria and lipid-envelope (membrane) viruses. This includes the flu viruses – and is documented by hundreds of studies! (There is an abundance of information about monolaurin in our “A-Z Index”.)
Monolaurin is in its highest percentage in nature in mother’s milk. It is there to help protect an infant until its immune system can get up and going. We have simply provided it in concentrated form – so it also provides a tremendous defense against the flu!
How Does Monolaurin Do It?
All flu strains have lipid fats in their outer envelope (membrane). This is by design so the virus can easily penetrate where they are not wanted. Monolaurin happens to be a similar size molecule so it easily absorbs into the virus envelope. The monolaurin quickly interrupts the reproductive cycle and, when enough monolaurin absorbs in, weakens the envelope to where it ruptures and the virus dies.
The blood then takes the debris to the liver where it is eliminated from the body. Your body is much happier and it’s a good deal for everyone – except for the virus!
Exotic Strains of Flu
So, how effective is monolaurin against different strains of flu – or an exotic flu like swine, bird or the West Nile virus?
Well, monolaurin’s effectiveness against the flu virus depends on how much lipid fat is in the envelope of the particular flu virus strain going around. Surprisingly, it was very effective against the swine flu because the swine flu had abundant lipid fats.
For most common flu strains, 1 scoop (1 tsp.) of monolaurin is about 90% effective, approaching 100% with 2 scoops a day – if following the KEY below! Even on low lipid fat flu strains, it greatly reduces the effects and duration of the flu.
The KEY to Effectiveness!
Monolaurin is much better
as a preventative rather than
AFTER catching the flu!
Let’s think this through. When first exposed to the virus, there are relatively few of them. If monolaurin is already in your bloodstream, the virus comes into contact with monolaurin pretty quickly and the monolaurin can easily kill it.
If you wait until you feel some symptoms of the flu, the virus has already multiplied into millions. Now you are playing catch-up and it is much harder to kill the virus.
So, the key to maximizing monolaurin’s abilities is to make sure it is in your blood before exposure to the flu. It is much easier for the monolaurin to kill the virus before it multiplies into a full-fledged flu!
As a result, many people take a scoop (1 teaspoon) a day of the little pellets. Then the monolaurin is already in the bloodstream if a flu virus enters your body.
Many people adjust the amount they take to the situation they are in. They might use a little less in the summer, then a scoop a day come flu season. They might increase to 2 scoops a day if they have heavy exposure (grandkids visiting from an infected school, school teachers, travelers, etc.).
Fortunately, our Ultimate Monolaurin is not only the purest, it is also the least expensive per serving (about 200 servings in a 21 oz. container)!
(As an additional benefit, monolaurin will also fight other bacterial infections as well – without harming beneficial good bacteria since they have different membranes. Side effects, drug interactions and allergies have not been noted in studies, so it is a very attractive flu defense.)
Our Recommendation is to take (at minimum):
- General maintenance: 1 scoop (1 tsp.) a day during the year.
- If heavily exposed: 2 scoops a day, 1 with breakfast, 1 with dinner.
- At the first hint of getting sick: 3 scoops a day, spread out.

Testimony:
“Thanks so much for your prompt response Allen. We have been using Monolaurin for many years, found out about it in an older book, “The Doctors Book of Home Remedies” – Rodale Press 1990 – just a few sentences in the Colds section. Thanks again, I was just delighted to find your product – seems so much better than caps!!!” Sharon, MN

Step 2: Our Foundation (optional multi-nutrient)
Many naturalistic doctors recommend good nutritional body support. In fact, we have included many of their recommended nutrients in our Foundation supplement. This is a complete multi-vitamin / mineral / nutrient / herb supplement. It forms the ‘foundation’ of giving the body the nutrients it needs to function properly. This helps relieve the body’s stress and energy loss from being attacked by disease. Now, the body can better add its own defenses to the battle.

Step 3: Other Helpful Nutrients (optional nutrients)
Many of these nutrients are in our Foundation supplement mentioned above. Additional supplementation of these nutrients is not essential; however, there is significant support for them. (If Ultimate Monolaurin is taken in advance of the flu, these become less important.)
Vitamin D-3
Our Foundation gives more vitamin D-3 than most multi-vitamins for general maintenance. However, during flu season or when not getting much sun (winter, northern low sun exposure, etc.), add an extra 2,000 – 3,000 IU of D-3. This may be the single biggest reason some people catch more colds and keep them longer than others. Exciting new research has come from noticing that the amount of colds and flu people get is directly related to the amount of sunlight they receive.
Skin Defense Spray (If being exposed to the flu, but no symptoms yet):
The nose is the #1 way the flu virus enters the body. Simply put some spray in your hand and use a Q tip to coat the nostrils 2-3 times a day – or spray and sniff into your nose as the first line of defense.
Zinc throat lozenges
This is a good, inexpensive way to protect the #2 virus access, “hands to the mouth, throat”. Use zinc lozenges in accordance with the manufacturer’s suggested usage. Zinc can be overdone – we prefer lower zinc amount lozenges, 5-10 mg, so they can be taken 3x a day. (If you take them more than 2 weeks, you may want to add 2 mg daily of copper because zinc decreases copper.)
Vitamin C
Our Foundation has a lot of the vitamin C family. However, in high exposure times, add 500 mg daily in addition to your multi-vitamin C. Use time-release C to spread the absorption rate, usage and to ease stomach acidity. Make sure they have bio-flavonoids in them.
Selenium
Again, our Foundation has selenium. However, if you use another multi-vitamin, add selenium to total at least 175 mg. Deficiencies of selenium are common. Selenium boosts the production of glutathione peroxidase that helps stops flu viruses from making you sick. Places that are deficient in selenium (such as China) slow outbreaks of viral diseases simply by giving selenium to the population.
