1. Bio-Fibrin
A. Starting to treat fibromyalgia, a higher level of the dosage of the Bio-Film Dissolving Enzymes should be maintained for at least 3 months.
A beginning dosage of 5-6 capsules a day is recommended in many articles. However, we recommended building up gradually; increasing 1 capsule every few days until the recommended 5-6 capsules a day is reached. (If a person has a lot of scar tissue in the body, we want to dissolve it gradually to give the body time to eliminate any toxins.)
Higher dosages may be used if desired (many studies used up to 20 capsules a day – but we think a more gradual approach makes sense).
The capsules must be taken on an empty stomach, 45 minutes before a meal, with any liquid that does not have protein in it (like milk in coffee). Herbs and standard prescriptions are ok (except for blood thinners) – just no protein in the stomach. A favorite time for most people is in the morning, when first getting up. Splitting the dosage into 2x a day (usually at night before bed), if the stomach is empty, is a little more efficient, but not essential. Large doses of enzymes do not cause side effects.
B. After the initial 3 months, a person can reduce the enzymes to a lower dose if they want until the pain is gone.
C. One or two containers a year helps prevent the scar tissue causing the pain from building-up again.
2. Chronic Inflammation Relief
The Inflammation Formula is not essential. Inflammation, itself, doesn’t cause most of the fibromyalgia pain. However, it leads to the fibrin buildup that does – and can be involved in a co-infection (or another misdiagnosed cause for the pain). If there is room in the budget, or cause to think inflammation may be part of the problem, a person can take 2-3 capsules a day for long-term relief.
3. Monolaurin
Again, Monolaurin is not essential. However, as we have seen in other articles, Lyme disease, CFS, Epstein Barr or another disease can be either a cause of the fibromyalgia – or the illness itself, if misdiagnosed.
If you decide to be on the safe side, we also recommend building up to a full dose gradually over 7-10 days. Monolaurin will kill all pathogen (bad) bacteria in your body (a very good thing). Again, we want allow the liver and kidneys plenty of time to filter toxins out.
A full dose ranges from 2 tsp. for a light person (less than 125 lbs.) to 3 tsp. for a heavy person (over 220 lbs.).
Probable Results
In reviewing the available literature about enzyme therapy, it is apparent that not all patients improve. However, most studies show 75-80% of patients clearly improve with the normal dosage.
Higher doses over a longer time frame are believed to increase the results but we couldn’t find clinical percentages. This might be particularly relevant in diseases like fibromyalgia, pulmonary fibrosis, scleroderma and fibrosis of the breasts – where there is such extensive scarring that it would not be reasonable to expect quick results.
Our feedback has also been very positive in about the same percentages.
