to bacterial skin infections – including MRSA!
History
It started back in the early part of the 20th century. Scientists were becoming very excited about experiments they were doing with some of the essential oils of different plants. Humans aren’t the only ones on this planet that have to defend themselves against bacteria. Bacteria also attack plants – and the plants had developed some very powerful defensive bacteria killers. The antibacterial effects of some of the essential oils were also very effective against infectious bacteria – including MRSA staph!
Even better, the bacteria couldn’t develop resistance to these oils because the oils change each year along with the bacteria! However, when much more profitable antibiotics were developed, interest in essential oils faded.
Today, all that has changed! With the MRSA staph developing resistance to the common forms of antibiotics, there has been a renewed interest in the ability of essential oils to kill bacteria. Many very competent studies, some by universities around the world, have been reconfirming the ability of select essential oils to kill surface bacteria, including MRSA infections!
Challenges
The first challenge – is that no one essential oil kills all bacteria! You have to blend the abilities of several oils that kill different forms of bacteria. Then you can end up with a synergy that will kill all forms of bacteria.
The second challenge – is that care has to be taken in the essential oil strength you use. Some oils, such as cinnamon bark, have to be used at very low dilutions. Some can be used at stronger concentrations.
The Third challenge – is to find a skin-friendly “carrier” for the essential oils. Essential oils are usually blended in carrier oils like jojoba, almond, sunflower, and the like, oils. The problem is that even a “dry” carrier oil stays oily on your skin for a long time. We wanted a lotion that would enrich your skin as it heals, but also absorb and dry in a reasonable time.
Answers
We have spent considerable time in extensive experimentation and formulation. The result is that we have been able to answer all three challenges.
First: we have been able to combine the bacteria fighting abilities of 16 different essential oils that covers the entire realm of bacterial defense.
Second: we have found a synergy in the chemical composition of the different essential oils that produces the ultimate results. Because of their slightly different chemical composition, we are able to make our blend over 300% stronger than other essential oil blends!
Third: we have also been able to emulsify this essential oil blend into a 90% organic nourishing skin-friendly lotion that doesn’t stay oily like carrier oils. This is why we feel we can call our MRSA skin infection defense the “Ultimate”.
