The Major Players
We include 4 major ingredients in the liquid products of our natural Herpes / Shingles treatment. They include:
1. Monolaurin,
2. Other monoglycerides of the coconut,
3. Essential Oils (in appropriate products) from plant defensive systems,
4. Phospholipids – also from the miracle coconut!
However, we discuss the benefits of monolaurin and essential oils extensively in the “A-Z Index” under those names. Here we want to add the clinical benefits of phospholipids – and why we are so unique in offering them in our formula. So, here goes some very specific anti-bacterial and viral benefits of phospholipids. (Biologists will love this, the rest of us can still see the tremendous immune support they provide in the chart below.)
Description
Phospholipids area coconut oil derived phospholipids composed predominantly of diester and triester phosphatides with multiple chain groups. In addition to topically simulating the properties displayed by the polar stratum corneum lipids, they display a broad range of functional attributes.
These include gentle cleansing properties, anti-irritation effects when combined with anionic surfactants, unusually high substantivity, long lasting skin conditioning, and broad spectrum antimicrobial activity.
Due to the ampholytic character of phospholipids, it is compatible with practically all other types of ingredients including anionic surfactants. Because phospholipids possesses this unique combination of properties and is virtually non-irritating to skin and eyes, it is an ideal ingredient for our sensitive Skin Defense, Foaming Soaps, C-A-Y Candida, Shampoo, and Conditioner.
Anti-microbial Properties
The range of pathogens phospholipids has proven against is impressive. Phospholipids can reduce or eliminate the use of classical preservatives to achieve self-preservation strategies with improved skin health benefits. Its performance is not adversely affected by solution pH, anionic or nonionic surfactants, or typical preservative deactivators. It even approaches monolaurin in many area – offering double protection! Take a look:

Nature really can do an excellent job – and we see it here! We are proud to make phospholipids part of our monolaurin “3-Step Treatment“ plans.
